Officer Tom Wagstaff's Fund
Donation protected
Thomas Wagstaff, Independence Police Officer, was shot in the line of duty March 29th, 2017. He is a proud parent of two teenage sons and a devoted husband to his college sweetheart, Stacy--an elementary school art teacher. Tom is the nicest guy anyone from the Department, his church, his sons' scout troop and athletic teams, his wife's school, and his old rugby team has ever met. While the Independence Police Department and other social services will cover most medical bills, please help Tom's family with the long-term care costs and lost wages that don't get covered. Everyone who knows Tom would love to see him back on his feet and cheering loudly for his sons again as soon as possible. Thank you all very much.
Site administrator, Mike Lynch, was a college roommate and teammate of Tom's, and a family friend for nearly two decades. Mike's two sons were in the same cub scout pack and boy scout troop as Tom and Stacy's boys. Tom made frequent passes by Mike's house in Independence, whooping the siren to alert his boys that Officer Friendly was in the neighborhood.
