You've probably heard by now that Alfred Angelo filed bankruptcy last Thursday and locked their doors--with dresses still inside.
As it turns out, the contract seamstress that the OKC and Tulsa Alfred Angelo's uses is a hero! Rose heard what was happening and drove down from Tulsa to Oklahoma City to grab every dress she could find, along with their invoice slips, to try to get them back to their owners.
Not only that, but she's also STILL doing the alterations--even though she didn't (and won't) receive a cent of the money that Alfred Angelo charged brides upfront for alterations.
Rose has done so many people such a good deed. There are worse things than losing a wedding dress, of course, but it means so much to the brides that she's helping.
Rose's plan was to continue doing all of the alterations and use her own money to pay for gas and hotel rooms to do fittings out of every Thursday until she gets through all the dresses.
Instead, I am working with hotels and other venues to donate working space for her, but if you would like to donate to defray Rose's costs--or help her recoup the money she's lost on doing all these alterations without pay--please donate here.
****UPDATE****
Due to the tremendous outpouring of local and national support, I have raised the goal fund amount (again) to more closely represent Rose's actual losses on the nearly 75 gowns at an average cost of around $400. Know that your gift is incredibly meaningful and will be put to use in a responsible manner. Thank you all again SO much!!
All best,
Stephanie
