Offset funeral costs for Larry Kerr
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Bart and I am setting up this gofundme for Garry Kerr to help offset Funeral Costs for his brother, Larry Kerr.
Longtime Bel Air resident and one half of the duo that is well known for their extensive Christmas light display on McCormick Street in Bel Air, Larry Kerr, recently passed away on July 21, 2023.
Along with his brother Garry, the Kerrs were inseparable and true fixtures in the town and neighborhood. Honest, hard-working men, truly salt of the earth; Larry was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to their joyful Christmas light displays, the brothers were very involved in van clubs, and generously donated their time to visit children in local hospitals.
By living together, Larry and Garry were able to have a comfortable life relying on small retirement incomes and money earned working as scrap metal collectors. Garry has been shouldering the scrap metal effort on his own for the past few years due to Larry’s declining health and dependence on a wheelchair.
Garry must now proceed on without Larry, which is tough emotionally and financially. It is unclear if Garry will be able to stay in the home he and Larry shared for over 20 years.
Our neighborhood is establishing this GoFundMe to help Garry alleviate some of the funeral costs for Larry and allow him to maintain his current quality of life. Hopefully, this fund will allow him to be able to stay in his current home, at least for the near term while he explores options for the future.
Any donations are greatly appreciated, and I sincerely thank you for your generosity in helping a good, kind and generous person who is facing a difficult time.
