Urgent Medical Fundraiser: Support Teague's Recovery

Dear Friends and Family,

Teague Connor, the kindhearted gentle 12 year old son of Tim and Sarah, underwent emergency brain surgery on July 3rd. This was following his mother noticing some paralysis of the left side of his face on June 29. He was diagnosed with a large brain tumor the next day, and taken into care at Duke University Medical Center.

Considering the holiday weekend, we are incredibly grateful for the quick response and efficacy of Duke's pediatric neurosurgery team, and fortunate to have access to such a highly regarded team of specialists. After an 11+ hour procedure, which involved removing a portion of his skull and mapping his brain, the team successfully removed the entire tumor and it's lining. We are currently waiting on the pathology report, but the outlook is hopeful.

While the surgery was successful, we all understand the nature of the American healthcare system. We kindly request your support in raising funds to cover the costs of Teague's procedure and 6 day hospital stay.

For those of you who don't know Teague, he is a bright, vibrant young boy who loves nature and the outdoors as much as games and YouTube. He maintains a kiddie-pool "pond" of local flora and fauna he collects from the family's backyard creek and the local lake, which he fishes in regularly. His fervent wish is to recover quickly so he can go back out and see how the local wildlife around his home is fairing during this hot summer.

He is recovering well, but this was brain surgery after all, and the process will take time and treatment.

As you know, Tim and Sarah have three other children, all of whom had shown incredible strength and resilience during this challenging time. The costs of daily life with such a large, active family are already substantial, and Tim and Sarah go above and beyond to provide a rich life for their kids. The hope for this fundraiser is to assist them with these unexpected medical costs, so the family can continue as normally as possible, regardless of the prognosis. In addition to the substantial medical fees, proceeds will also assist the family with essential needs like groceries and bills as they traverse the uncertain weeks ahead.

We are working on building a list of people who can help in other ways: If you are interested and able to provide child care or transportation- mostly for the Connor's youngest child, Ellie - while Sarah and Tim focus on getting Teague to medical appointments and PT. As he will need more attention in the near future, they especially don't want their other children to feel left alone or isolated during this time.

If you are interested in making meals, that is also welcome. There are no dietary requirements other than young children sometimes being picky eaters.
