Show your support for front line workers!
There is nothing saintly about the tactics St. Charles Medical Center is using.
At a time when Oregon healthcare workers face unprecedented challenges in the workplace, management at St. Charles Medical Center has decided to turn their backs against its frontline employees. Therapists, technicians and technologists, whom are members of the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals AFT Local 5017 , are taking a stand to demand fair and equitable contract negotiations.
We have given legal notice that a strike will occur on March 4th if a settlement is not reached.
Members out on strike often experience an immediate financial strain. As a result, we are accepting donations to the OFNHP Cares - Member Hardship Relief Fund to support our brothers and sisters in need. A committee has been formed to review grant applications and authorize distribution of funds.
While we are grateful for community support and that of our brothers and sisters in labor, we will not accept any financial support from employers, employer-sided labor relations experts, advisers or consultants, nor will we accept any contributions from anyone who is an agent of an employer or who is acting in the interest of an employer. Contributions from such individuals will not be accepted through this platform. For any questions concerning the source of contributions, please contact the sponsor of this page.
Donations to the Hardship Fund are not tax deductible.
Excess funds will be reserved for future member needs.
