From Oheo: “Unlike my pregnancy with Scarlet, a few complications have arisen over the last few months. The least concerning being my placenta developing in away that will cause me to have a C-section rather than our planned home birth. However, if my placenta hadn’t been an issue we never would have caught the rare heart defect that has developed in our baby’s heart. Our baby boy will need surgery within the first week of life. Which means Darien and I will have to stay at the children’s hospital for a month while our baby gets the help he needs. The doctors and us are relieved we caught this now and are making all the arrangements we can to bring our boy into this world safe and healthy.”

Funds raised will help their family stay afloat as they welcome their baby and during their stay at Children’s Hospital in Aurora. Every bit counts. Love, Abby

We got some encouraging news from our MRI results this week! It’s looking like our baby will not need surgery, but will still need be observed at Children’s hospital for a period of time after birth to ensure his heart develops correctly. We are so grateful that surgery will likely not be necessary! I will still need a C-section because of my placenta previa and so, will require extra time for healing and recovery. We will be both be taking additional unpaid time off from our jobs, so every dollar counts as we welcome our little one earthside! Thank you all so much for your donations so far.
