Tiara Taylor-Swain was shopping for the last items needed for Thanksgiving dinner, when a man walked into Walmart with a rifle. He intentionally came into her aisle, passed her and then turned to open fire on her from behind - hitting her seven times.

Based on evidence collected, including

paraphernalia, writings in his car and home, and activity found on his laptop, this attack was indeed racially motivated.

Tiara was rushed to Soin Hospital and then promptly airlifted to a Level 1 trauma hospital due to the severity of her wounds. She has lost a kidney and part of her liver with the first surgery. Her intestines were reconstructed in a second surgery, and a third surgery was performed on her spine from T 11 down to L 4 with the removal of a piece of shattered vertebrae from spinal canal.

Her doctors will not know the severity of her injuries until the weeks to follow. Her family and friends have been warned to prepare for the long hall. 

Tiara is a mother, a wife, a caregiver, and a dedicated school counselor. The emotional and financial impact of this disgusting act has created looming concerns regarding her care for both short/long-term needs, and the day-to-day necessities. 

The funds raised will be used to help with the mounting medical costs and the unexpected expenses that this tragedy has brought on.
