Finish The Fight 400 w. The OHL Fanboys Podcast
Donation protected
GoFundMe has required us to take down any mention of a raffle, so no donations made will go towards any prizes. However we do ask you to tune into OHL Fanboys Live 2 on Tuesday, April 27th for more information!
On Wednesday, April 28, 2021, Steve McLean of The OHL Fanboys will be taking part in the 7th Annual Finish The Fight 400 organized by the Championship Online Racing Teams series (CORT). The race was created in 2015 to initially raise money and awareness for cancer research. Since then the sim racers who take part in this event chose charities of any cause to represent and help raise funds. This year Steve will be representing and raising funds for McFadden's Movement.
McFadden's Movement was created by former Guelph Storm captain Garrett McFadden in September 2016 and is a non profit organization in support of mental health that strives to change, help, and develop mental health among athletes starting at the grass roots level. In addition to raising awareness, McFadden started fundraising for mental health resources, including WES for Youth Online, and the Canadian Mental Health Association Waterloo-Wellington branch in order to give back to the city and community of Guelph. To date, the Movement has raised over $57,000 and counting for mental health resources.
But enough logistics! What’s in it for YOU?
The OHL Fanboys Podcast has been off the air for nearly 2 years, but still maintains a really cool fanbase that we’re tapping for the first time ever. And what would asking for money be without sweet prizes and incentives? WE GOT EM!
To show we’re serious about raising money for a good cause, if we meet our goal of $500 for McFadden’s Movement, Steve and Brian will return for a special reunion episode of The OHL Fanboys Podcast! OHL Fanboys Live 2 will be live on YouTube the day before the race, Tuesday, April 27th featuring special guests and prizes!
When Steve races in the Finish The Fight 400 on April 28 he will be doing so in a NASCAR Xfinity Series Toyota Supra in a paint scheme showing off McFadden's Movement. All funds collected from this fundraising campaign will be donated directly to McFadden's Movement.
