New Octorara HS Band Uniforms

The Octorara High School Marching Band is a vibrant part of the Octorara community. We can all agree that the marching band inspires school spirit, enhances community image and augments student learning. Speaking to many alumni, their experience in the band is one of their most cherished memories from high school. We are still making those memories. Students at Octorara are offered a distinctive marching band experience. I hope you would agree that a band like this should wear distinctive uniforms. For the past 35 years, the Octorara Band has proudly represented the Octorara school and community with dignity, class, professionalism and excellence, and all the while wearing the same uniforms. The time has come to replace those uniforms. Our band has grown but our supply has not. The variety of sizes in our inventory requires many alterations resulting in ill-fitting uniforms and a look unbecoming the current Octorara Band. Uniforms are designed to last 12-15 years, so 35 years was a stretch. This is where your help comes in.

We have been working with Stanbury Uniforms, a highly-respected uniform manufacturer., to design a new uniform for the Octorara Band. They have created a sample uniform based on our suggestions.


You can help make this new look a reality. Our goal is to purchase 150 uniforms. To do that we will need to raise $65,000. Suggested levels of donation are:


Band Member Level - Up to $99

Your name will appear in an Octorara HS Band program and on the OHS Band class website. All donations returned with the letter of appeal (available for printing here ) will also receive a letter of recognition from the school district that may be used for tax purposes.

*The Octorara Area SD will not be able to provide letters recognizing donations made on GoFundMe, though your donation will entitle you to all other benefits at your level of giving.*

Section Leader Level - $100 to $199

Entered into a drawing to appear as a guest conductor of “Sleigh Ride” or a march at an Octorara High School Band Concert. Includes benefits of previous donation levels PLUS three votes will be cast.

Drum Major Level - $200 to $399

Donors at the Drum Major level will receive a commemorative pillow made from the current Octorara Band uniforms WHILE SUPPLIES LAST. Pillows will be given to donors based on the post-mark of their donation. Includes benefits of previous donation levels.

Director Level - $400 and greater

A donation a the Director Level provides an entire uniform (jacket, hat, pants, plume, hat box, and garment bag). A tag bearing the donor’s name or organization will be sewn on the inside of the jacket as a reminder to all students who will wear that uniform of who helped the Octorara Band. Includes benefits of previous donation levels.
