Starlight Drive-In Projecter Fund
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Dan Myers owner of the Starlight Drive-In 1889 US 127, Maria Stein, Ohio. We are a family owned and operated theater, for the last 28 years we've had our drive-in opened every summer with great movies and many memories about going to drive-in theaters and watching the shows under the stars. All theaters, drive-ins and indoors has to switch to new digital projector equipment, 35mm films will no longer be available. The conversion cost the drive-ins between $55,000 to $65,000 to make the switch. Most small seasonal drive-ins only open around six months a year cannot afford this. The Starlight was open in 1950 and run continuously since then. Hopefully we do not have to shut down due to this conversion but it will be very hard to stay open without a little help. We have been taking donations but as of yet not doing too good. Drive-ins are down to just around 250 in the whole United States. Any size donation will help, none too small everything helps. As I said in my Facebook many times any donations we get, and we have to close the money will go to a local charity are food bank. Thanks for reading this and if you can please help and keep the memories of the drive-ins alive. Thank you Dan
