Ola High Choir's Performance at Carnegie Hall
Donation protected
I am the choir director at Ola High School in McDonough, GA. In February 2020, we announced that we had been invited to perform exclusively on the Carnegie Hall Stage in NYC. We were on several news casts and radio stations. The community was ready to help us get there.
Then covid hit, and we have been fighting for 2 years to make this once in a lifetime performance happen and we are so close. We have done close to 40 fundriasers, volunteered for numerous community events, supported other organizations and sporting events, passed out sponsorship forms to over 400 buisinesses. Anything we could think of to get our kids to Carnegie Hall. We know life is hard for everyone. We are just trying to do everything we can think of to get our kids there. We had to have a minimum of 75 singers to perform. With the financial obligations, 2 years of working on this, parents losing jobs, dozens of fundraisers, life emergencies, the Carnegie Hall Vaccine requirement, and more, we have just enough to go. After the February 2019 newscast, dozens of people reached out to help, but lost touch when Covid started. So we really need help again.
