Hi, and thank you for visiting my GoFundMe page. My name is Omero Lara. I currently reside in Lubbock, Texas and I was elected as the National Delegate from Senate District 28, supporting Senator Bernie Sanders. We did it, 28, but “the struggle continues.”
As a graduate student, I survive on a teaching assistant stipend to get through the month, but this Convention is so important to me that I am laying myself on the line and asking for any help you can give me.
The hotel alone will be over $2000 for the entire stay during the last week of July. Round-trip plane tickets need to be thrown, food is a must, and it's always good to have an emergency fund.
But with grassroots efforts, I know we can make it happen. Bernie never depended on SuperPAC money, but shattered records for individual and small donations; people came together and put whatever they could to a cause they believe in.

Why Bernie Sanders? During this election cycle, Bernie Sanders’s enthusiasm has generated hope among millions of Americans and has transformed contemporary American politics. His message has resonated with young supporters that will become essential for the future of the Democratic Party. Like many of you, I firmly believe that Bernie Sanders is a once-in-a-lifetime candidate, who possesses authenticity, virtue and who has always fought from the heart. Our agenda offers the opportunity to transform American politics from a system controlled by greed into one that inspires the best of humanity.
Why support me? As my endorsement from West Texans for Bernie Sanders and the Official Texans for Bernie Sanders organizations have shown, I want to contribute to a political system that will empower all Americans to thrive in a society that is truly fair and just. Though I have always voted Democrat, I had never been politically engaged. The Political Revolution changed that for me. Like many Americans, I was cynical about politics, but Bernie has given people like myself the optimism to act, and not just to vote. That is the essence of what this campaign is addressing.
The message of this movement is about restoring hope and bringing new vibrant individuals into the political process. Help me be one of those individuals at what promises to be a momentous occasion in American history.
