Olivia's Story:
On June 8th, Olivia was diagnosed with a brain tumor at the age of 12. Olivia had been having recurrent headaches, fainting spells, and difficulty talking. The tumor she was specifically diagnosed with is called a medulloblastoma. Medulloblastomas are all classified as grade IV tumors because they are malignant and fast-growing. Olivia had surgery on June 17th to remove the tumor at Boston Children’s Hospital. She stayed for a week before being transported to inpatient rehab, where she is receiving speech therapy, occupational therapy, and physical therapy. Once Olivia is discharged from inpatient rehab, she will receive outpatient therapies to continue her progress. Within the next few weeks, she will begin radiation Monday through Friday for 6 weeks in Boston. Shortly thereafter, Olivia will begin the chemotherapy portion of treatment.
The Livybug Loveboxes Campaign:
Help Olivia Perez pursue her nonprofit "Livybug Loveboxes," in which she will be creating care packages for other cancer patients while they fight the courageous fight. These care packages will be filled with goodies, pajamas, and other essential items.
