Olivia Nelsen is a wonderful, talented young woman loved by many family and friends. She was in a rollover car accident on Sept 17, 2022, and suffered many serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. She spent about two weeks under sedation at HCMC ICU in Minneapolis and recently graduated to in-patient rehab at the Knapp Center. We are so grateful she survived the accident, for the great care she has received, and the great strides she has made since regaining consciousness about a week ago. She has shown true fortitude. She is working extremely hard to regain normalcy and independence, return to coaching figure skating, playing the flute, time with friends, all the wonderful things in her life before the accident. The longer course of her recovery remains to be seen over the coming months and years. Her progress is being shared on a caringbridge.org site in her name.
