COMMUNITY POT

This initiative was born in Guatemala City, where  Rayuela Restaurant, a space for art and culture, made the decision to support people who have difficult access to food during the crisis that the country is going through. The first day they delivered 50 plates of food, and to date they have provided over 20,295.

In addition to food, they provide grocery bags, this in the face of the growing wave of white flags in the city. (Which signify folks don't have food, are hungry and don't have access to obtaining it)

Today, Quetzaltenango joins the Olla Comunitaria collective, which seeks to provide food to the most needy, share and create community, understanding the primary need to provide solutions to the food crisis that Covid-19 is causing.

This is a non-profit initiative involving restaurants, associations, and individuals, who selflessly seek to alleviate the problem of hunger, the current goal is to deliver 100 lunches daily, starting on May 4.

Tan Lechuga Yo, El Shamrock, Rina Morales, Manola Díaz Morales and Fabricio Amézquita amongst other folks are collecting supplies and ingredients for food preparation and delivery.
