Raising money for St Catherine’s Hospice
Donation protected
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
I am planning to run the 2023 London Marathon to raise money and awareness for St Catherine’s Hospice and the amazing work they do to support people facing life-shortening conditions.
St Catherine’s Hospice is an independent local charity which cares for adults in Chorley, Preston and South Ribble who have a life-shortening condition including cancer, motor neurone disease and heart failure, supporting them from diagnosis and through bereavement. The charity helps around 2,000 patients and families a year and care is provided unconditionally regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, religious or cultural belief.
The charity means a lot to me because of the selfless work they do to support families in a time of need; it is estimated that 75% of people dying have some form of end-of-life care requirement. Without independent charities such as St Catherine’s providing end-of-life care, the NHS would face capacity constraints which is unimaginable for individuals facing life-shortening illness.
I’m hoping to raise £1,500 for the wonderful charity to help continue the care provided and would be extremely grateful for any donation, no matter what the value – every little really does help!
