Olympic Wrestling Trials 2024

I am Juliana Valenica Velez, and I am fundraising to go to the Olympic Trials for freestyle women's wrestling in Guam and Egypt.

I started doing sports when I was 13 years old, but growing up and living in Colombia, there was a lack of infrastructure, and very small opportunities to train and compete. When I moved to Australia, and started wrestling, but with wrestling being so small in Australia I encountered the same problem. But I decided to pursue my wrestling dreams anyways.

I kept training and started competing too.

Now almost 10 years later, I am Australia's national champion, and payed my own way to international training camps and competitions in Canada, Japan, Poland, Los Angeles and Budapest.

And now in front of me is the 3 most important competitions of my life.

Olympic Trials in Guam and Egypt, and then finally the Paris Olympics in July.

But it is expensive, and while I am working and saving alongside my training,

with no help from the Australian government or sports institutions, I need your help to make this happen.

Donations will go towards flights, accommodation, registration fees, uniforms, and medicals.

And I will work as hard as I can to make it through these trials and represent Australia in the Olympics in 2024
