Please support Pasadena Police Officer Omar Elhosseiny, who has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disorder that causes full or partial paralysis. Omar first experienced symptoms on June 28th and has been on life support in intensive care since June 30, where he is still receiving treatment. While his doctors and family remain optimistic, it is very clear he will have a long and difficult recovery that will take anywhere from several months to years.
Omar came to United States with his family when he was ten years old. Becoming a police officer was part of his American dream. In his teens, he became a Police Cadet and knew that law enforcement was the career for him. His vocation reflects his love of his community and genuine desire to help those in need. Although only with the Pasadena Police Department for two years, Omar has proven himself to be a hard-working and dedicated officer. The citizens of Pasadena have truly benefitted from his service.
Beyond halting his promising career, this illness has forced Omar and his fiancée, who also works for the Pasadena Police Department, to reschedule their wedding planned for this July. Instead of celebrating this joyous event, she and Omar's family have put their lives on hold to support Omar through this emergency and manage his medical care.
We are heartbroken to see Omar's promising future so tragically interrupted and want to do everything we can to help him and his family get through this crisis. Omar dedicated his professional life to serving his community, and now we are asking that the community offer him and his family support during this exceedingly difficult time.
All funds raised will go support Omar’s recovery, medical and living expenses. Because Omar is currently incapacitated, his fiancée, Osiris Negrete, will be receiving the funds and working with his family to manage them on his behalf.
Any donations will be greatly appreciated. In the face of such a devastating diagnosis, one of the few things we can do for Omar and his family is ease the financial burden of this shattering illness. Please help us show Omar that our thoughts are with him as we pray for his recovery.
Thank you for your support.
