Hi, my name is Blanca Carmona and I am making this go fund me for my brother Omar Sauceda. As many of you know on November 26th Omar went to UMC ER with what he thought was a kidney stone. After several labs, MRI’s and CT scans it was discovered Omar had a mass the size of a baseball located by his kidneys. They did a biopsy of the mass on 11/29 to determine if the mass was malignant. At this time all we know is the mass has positive traces of malignancy and at this time they have not been able to determine what kind of cancer; IF that he may be battling. The doctors have said they have never seen anything like it. Whatever it is they believe it to be slow growing and now Omar will be undergoing an extensive 5-6 hour surgery to remove this mass and because of the location of the mass he is at risk of possibly losing a kidney. We will not know until the oncologist actually gets in there to see how big and where the mass maybe affecting. Omar is not working and still does not qualify for Medicaid so this will be self-pay. This will have him down for about 6-8 weeks as it will be a very extensive surgery along with many follow up appointments and at this time we are not sure if he will need chemo to follow up; although doctors think he will not need it.
