One Community - Own Community Centres
Your contribution will make history for generations to come
Nepalese Community in Australia has once in a generational opportunity to make history. With $1M funding commitment from the Australian Federal Government as part of its 2019 election commitment, the proposed Community Centre in the St George area of Sydney will be the first of its kind and a pride destination to every individual of Nepali origin. This is the time to contribute and own our Community Centre as a proud community.
The commitment is a result of an ongoing request/ lobbing of the Nepalese Community in Australia led by the Nepalese Australian Association (NAA) along with the Penhurst Nepalese Community and other community organisation.
Once established, the community centre will be a unique place for the Nepalese community in Australia where we can have our sense of belonging, our own destination to visit, and where our identity as a culturally rich progressive community can be showcased, enjoyed and promoted.
The total cost of a small community centre with few meeting rooms, amenities, library, kitchen and a small hall is estimated to be Over $1.5M. After the Federal commitment of $1M, the community will have to contribute $500,000 towards this first community centre. Your contribution as little as $5 would make our dream realised for all of us to own our own community centre.
Nepalese Community Centre -Delivery Ambassador Group (NCC-DAG) would like to humbly request the proud community members, community organisations, business communities, prominent figures of Nepalese diaspora, and friends and well-wishers of the Nepalese community to participate, promote and contribute to this once in a generation opportunity to create a history.
