One Final Wish For Glen McGean Senior
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Natasha McGean and I am the daughter of Glen and the late Rogene McGean. This GoFundMe page was created for my father Glen here is a little backstory on him...
Glen was born in Florence, Cape Breton on June 7, 1954. He grew up working in the Point Aconi, Sydney Mines and Lingan Coal Mines for 25 years and retired the day I was born in 1995. My father helped so many people throughout his lifetime and he is now the one who is in need of help. He is a man who prides himself on not asking for help which is why I, his daughter am doing so for him.
He spent his entire life from the moment I was born to make my dreams and wishes come true but I need your help to do the same for him.
In June 2017 we received the worst news.
The tumor in his right lung was cancerous and he was diagnosed with terminal Squamous cell Sarcoma of the Lung. A month after the diagnosis he began radiation therapy which put the cancer into remission for a few months. Unfortunately , in the beginning of December 2018 we were informed that the cancer has grown, with not good prognosis. Chemotherapy was his last hope of adding a few months to his very precious life with me, family and friends but that was not the case, and chemo didn't work.
Glen's wish is to attend a Blue Jay's game in Toronto one final time as baseball has been a life long passion of his and also he would love to see his brother Robert (Bud) who he hasn't seen in over 15 years that lives in Ontario. Due to his condition the only possible way for him to be able to make it to Toronto would be to fly there by plane. Any possible donations would be greatly appreciated eminently not only by us but all of his family and friends.
We truly want this trip to be a once in a life time experience.
Thank-you again from the bottom of my heart.
Sincerely,
Natasha McGean
