One Heartbeat
Donation protected
Andrew survived a massive heart attack, commonly referred to as a widow maker, in 2016. His heart sustained irreversible damage and he was placed on the transplant list with a 2-3 year projected wait. This gave a glimmer of hope at a longer life with his family.
That all changed a few months ago when Andrew’s heart began to rapidly decline and function at a very low percentage causing his other organs to become deprived of the precious blood flow they so desperately need to not begin to fail as well. On January 28, 2020 Andrew will be admitted into ICU and have a balloon pump placed in the right side of his heart as a way to force his heart to function. Luckily this moves him higher on the transplant list, unfortunately this could mean 4+ weeks in ICU.
Once a donor heart becomes available he will go directly into surgery after the transplant is complete he will have to remain in ICU for recovery for another 4+ weeks.
Andrew is a devoted husband, father, loyal friend, and an upstanding member of the community. Although this is a life saving procedure, it comes at a huge cost. Growing medical bills, household bills, and medication costs continue to mount adding extra stress to an already stressful situation. Andrew is not one to ask for help, he is the guy to give the help so this has been a very humbling journey for him and his family.
As his cheerleaders and support team we ask that you donate what you can, any amount will be a blessing to this family in their time of need.
