One in the Tap - Old Crown Inn

Do you love your local? We really do and we care about the staff that serve us and keep up the craic, we love the landlords that keep the stock coming and creating a wonderful place to share our lives with friends and families  

We’ve all stood in The Old Crown Inn on many occasions, from celebrating successes to meeting friends to share our woes and sometimes even say farewell to those no longer with us. It’s more to us thanjust a pub. 

This week’s advice for the country to avoid bars and restaurants during the COVID-19 outbreak could have a devastating impact on an already fragile industry.  These small businesses have been denied the ability to make insurance claims for the loss of income, a decision that has been a widely criticised.Every other country in lock down have instructed the closure, ensuring safety of staff, customers and giving security to the future of the business. 

Realistically, a lot of businesses won’t survive this storm, and many of us are asking ‘how can we help?’And we’ve had a wee idea. We love our pub so much, that we want to help them with a ‘One in the Tap’fundraiser. 

The idea is that you donate £5 which can be redeemed for one drink up to the value of £4, once the pubs are fully functional again. You can, of course choose to be even more awesome and just not redeem at all, with all money going back into The Crown helping all! There’s no pressure though, we know times are hard for everyone.
