One Shot. One Event. One Teens Dream. Apple WWDC 2025.

Hi, my name’s Dominic McFarland-but everyone calls me Dom. Im 18 years old, a college student, iOS Developer, and aspiring chiropractor, going to college in a small town in Texas. Ever since I was a kid, I’ve been building, creating, and dreaming things that are way over my head lol.

Just a couple weeks ago something incredible happened- I was invited to attend Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025 in person.

If your not familiar with WWDC, its where Apple reveals their greatest innovations they have been working on over the last year and invites the best developers from around the world to attend and network. Tens of thousands apply to be invited in person, but only a very small number are accepted. This is my once in a lifetime opportunity to meet industry leaders, connect with Apple Engineers, and take my skills to the next level.

As a teen I was homeschooled and enrolled straight into college, I’ve spent the past few years working hard at coding, robotics, app building, (even publishing a few games) and I’ve also been getting my Associates degree in Science, which is preparing me for getting my Doctorate in Chiropractic in Dallas Texas. I’ve always pushed myself to grow and learn in as many ways as possible and this opportunity is a massive step forward in the tech world I have dreamed about having.

My family has been behind me, supporting me in everything I’ve done so far, from my little brother, my grandmas, my aunts and uncles, my mom and dad -this team, this family of mine is the reason i’ve made it this far. But traveling to Cupertino California for WWDC isn’t cheap.

Thats why I'm asking for help.

This isn’t a vacation(I might check out the ocean if I get the chance to)-it’s a career enhancing moment for me. It’s a chance to make myself and everything I’ve worked so hard for seen in front of the greatest in the industry. Every bit of support gets me closer to this dream. Normally my family is able to help me with the costs of things, but my dad is just getting back to working after being off work on disability due to a really bad accident which required him having multiple surgeries, with more surgeries to come at the end of this year. So they cannot spare the extra money for this trip. I have just started at a job and I am trying to save as much as I can, but with the trip being in June I will not be able to save enough money fast enough to make the trip financially on my own, so I am asking for your help to make this dream of mine a reality.
