One Step At A Time

On January 23, 2020, Jon Day was taken to Parkland Hospital by ambulance where he was diagnosed with a brain bleed. He was scheduled for surgery the following morning for a ruptured aneurysm and given less than a 50% chance of survival. He miraculously made it through the surgery and spent the next 21 days heavily sedated in the Neurological ICU. He suffered many ups and downs while in ICU and was eventually transferred to an Acute Care Facility in Plano where he spent the next several weeks. As he steadily improved mentally and physically, he was transferred to Baylor Scott & White Rehabilitation of Frisco. He spent several weeks in Frisco before being transferred to Pate Rehab in Anna, TX this past May. The Pate facility proved to be exactly what Jon needed and they were able work with him extensively on his physical, occupational and speech therapies. In August, Jon left Pate Rehab and transitioned back to his own apartment.

While it is a blessing that he has come so far, his struggles are far from over. He continues his out-patient rehab in Dallas and will not be able to return to work anytime in the near future. His medical bills at Parkland alone were over one million dollars. He continues to have mounting medical bills, costs for medication and everyday living expenses. It is not Jon’s personality to ask for help and he has given to many over the years. So I’m asking for him. If you are able to donate any amount to his fund it would be greatly appreciated. Blessings and thanks to all.
