One Step, One Punch, One Round At A Time
Hello! My name is Jessica and I am Jason’s sister in-law and posting on behalf of Jason and his family.
On June 19th Jason and our families were enjoying a day at Perry lake when Jason had an unexpected accident. Jason had attempted to knee board when he felt his left humerus bone break. He was taken to the hospital in Topeka where he was referred to an orthopedic surgeon who wanted to perform further testing.
Jason, nor his family were expecting that a routine surgery on his broken arm would lead to the diagnosis of cancer.
After being referred to an oncologist, Jason underwent further testing to see how far the cancer has spread and it was determined that he has stage 4 esophageal cancer that has spread to his lymph nodes, lung and humerus bone.
Due to the size of the masses in his esophagus, surgery is not an option. Jason will under go aggressive chemo therapy sessions every 2 weeks. If he does not respond to chemo as expected Jason and his family will explore further options which may include MD Anderson in Houston, Texas.
All donations received will go to Jason and his family to use toward the upcoming medical expenses. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!!
