One World Surgery Medical Mission August 2023
Tax deductible
Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, we leave in just a few days for Honduras as a family with our nephew Javier and sister-in-law, Monica for week-long medical mission. While there, we will be volunteering with our dear friends, Dr. Mike & Dr. Mary Hannon and their sons at the One World Surgery center and Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos home for orphaned and disadvantaged boys and girls.
To give a little background, the Daly family founded OWS in 2008 on the campus of NPH, outside the capital city of Tegucigalpa, that is home to nearly 800 children and young adults. To date, there have been over 10,900 surgeries performed at the OWS surgery center. OWS has expanded and opened a new medical facility in the Dominican Republic which is currently seeing primary care patients and is scheduled to open a state-of-the-art surgical center later this year.
We have created this GoFundMe to raise money for the surgical center so that we can help transform as many lives as possible. If you watched the video in this post, the patients that come to OWS are desperate and have no other option for medical and surgical care. The following are some examples of the impact our gifts can have down there:
$5,000 Provides three months’ salary and benefits for a local general physician
$1,000 Provides one life-transforming surgery
$500 Funds three months tuition scholarship for future medical professionals
$250 Provides 5 patients with one year’s supply of medicine to manage chronic disease
$125 Provides personal protective supplies such as masks and gloves
We can assure you that any amount will have a direct impact on the lives of the patients and their families. We thank you in advance for any gifts that you can give.
If you have a couple minutes to spare, please watch this video of the remarkable work that is done every day at OWS: https://vimeo.com/277159576

On behalf of the patients of One World Surgery, we truly thank you for all your support. We also ask for prayers for safe travels and for all of the medical staff, that they can provide the type of care and healing that these patients deserve and desperately have been waiting for.
Love, the Fernandezs and our good friends, the Hannons
