One Hairy Fundraiser
Hairy alright, yup biting the bullet and doing it for a good cause.
What?
Thanks to a challenge to donate my hair from fellow entrepreneur, Nick Mitchell, these luscious long strands are coming off once September ends. To make things interesting, since we can't run marathons, climb stairs, etc, I'm offering up my long hair to an organization that will use it to support kids once we reach the fundraising finish line. I'm raising money in addition to donating my hair for 3 local initiatives that support my home community in a big way.
Why?
Many of my friends in the community struggle with food insecurity, addiction and lack of safe and sustainable housing. These issues among the many others are near and dear to my heart. As someone who has experienced some of these challenges I understand the value of the work local organizations do to support our community.
How?
I humbly ask you to join me in my quest to support 3 incredible initiatives in a small way to do more for our community by making a donation to this One Hairy Fundraiser or sharing it with your friends and family and encouraging them to do the same.
I encourage businesses and individuals alike to support this campaign. Happy to give a shout out to any businesses that do donate. Feel free to get in touch and let me know
Where?
Where is it going?
1. Kawartha Food Share - https://kawarthafoodshare.com
2. Peterborough's Safe Consumption and Treatment Site - https://peterboroughdrugstrategy.com/cts
3. The Home Program under One City Peterborough - https://onecityptbo.ca/h-o-m-e-program
4. The hair is going to: TBD
NB any amount over the goal will be divided up among the three organizations and other local organizations doing amazing work. The more that's raised, the more we can give back.
When?
I hope to meet and surpass this goal by the end of September to mid October.
