Donation protected
Hi all!! Just a quick update to let you all know that we've locked picture edit and are onto the final sound mix and color correction! That said, we're still trying to raise some final funds for our post-production expenses and film festival submissions, so any little contribution is hugely appreciated. Thanks again for past and continued support and we look forward to bringing "One Out of Three" to you all very soon!
Also, please check out our new website for the film at www.oneoutofthreemovie.com!
Update: Here are some photos and stills from our first two weekends of shooting!
Hello Friends, Loved Ones and Supporters,
Welcome to the GoFundMe page for our short film, "One Out of Three"! We are currently in production for a 20-minute short film about three women in their 30's, dealing with the struggles and expectations they face in their lives and today's society. Each woman has one piece of the adult-life trifecta (Career, Love, Kids) working for them, but only one, hence the title. The story centers on these three friends over the course of an afternoon, as a possible pregnancy threatens to bring pre-exisiting issues and insecurities to light.
The reason for this GoFundMe page is to help supplement our budget for production and post-production costs. We're part of the way there but still have a little ways to go, so this seemed like the next logical option! Keep in mind that every little bit helps, so no amount is too small!
Our primary filmmaking team consists of Katie Cleese, Vikram Jayakumar and Bethany Liles, each of whom has 10+ years of experience in the film industry in various capacities (you can read bios on each of them, as well as select members of the cast, below). In addition, we've assembled an incredibly talented cast and crew, all of whom bring a high level of professionalism with them to the project, to help us bring this story to life. Our plan is to shop the film to film festivals once it's completed, to gain exposure for our work and broaden our circle of industry contacts, in order to create future filmmaking opportunities.
Being able to work on our own passion projects and showcase our artistic abilities is something that all of us have been working towards for many years, so the opportunity to collaborate on something like this has been a long time coming and really is a dream come true. Thank you so much, from the bottom of our hearts, for helping to make the dream a reality.
Our Team:
Vikram Jayakumar –
(Co-director/Cinematographer/Editor/Composer)
Even at an early age, Vikram knew movies were the ultimate canvas for creative expression. He started making films at age 12 and when he wasn’t shooting, he was drawing portraits, with a passion for shading that foreshadowed his later obsession with lighting. Along the way he was also teaching himself to play keyboard, further rounding out his repertoire. In short, he knew he had to find a career in the business that would allow him to explore all of his creative interests. Flash forward to today and he's since earned a degree in Direction and Cinematography from LA Film School, worked as a Gaffer and DP, started his own production company, worked in the Lighting Department for Raleigh Studios, became an Operations Manager for several LA post houses, prepped a feature in India for a year and finally landed at his current position as Director of Broadcast Production at Technicolor Hollywood. All of this while directing, shooting, editing and composing a variety of projects along the way, and with plans in place to direct a supernatural thriller in India in Dec. 2016. It's been a long journey to get here but Vik strongly feels that all of his experiences have helped him sharpen his talents. He looks forward to working alongside close friend and co-director/writer/actor Katie Cleese to create this layered ensemble dramedy.

Katie Cleese –
(Co-director/Writer/Actor)
Katie's love of films and acting began at a young age, performing in her first plays and dance shows at the age of 3. She continued training through her formative years, studying first at California Theater Center and later, San Francisco's prestigious American Conservatory Theater, before making the move to LA at 19. She continued to study acting and appeared in short and feature films around Los Angeles, while also gaining experience working behind the scenes on numerous films with such notables as Danny Trejo, Robert Rodriguez, Margaret O'Brien, Jane Withers and "Still Alice" directors, Wash Westmoreland and Richard Glatzer, on their breakthrough film, "Quinceañera". On these films, she served in a variety of roles such as associate producer, assistant director, sound assistant, camera assistant and set photographer. She looks forward to bringing together all of the different skills she's acquired over the years as she makes this first foray into directing alongside her good friend and talented co-director and cinematographer, Vikram Jayakumar.

Bethany Liles –
(Producer/Actor)
Bethany hails from North Carolina, where she acted in many different projects before coming to LA, ranging from student and short films to theater and commercials, most notably for TSA, IBM and Six Flags. While this is her first time officially serving as a producer, she draws upon years of on-set experience and her extensive working relationship assisting close friend, writer/director JS Mayank, with his award-winning films, "Supernumerary" and "Emit".
Chelsea King –
(Actor)
Chelsea has been performing since she literally was in diapers, making her debut with Baby Keds when she was 2. Honing her chops with theater programs such as The Charles River Creative Arts Program and the Freelance Players, she moved into theater and voice-over with interactive exhibits in museums across the county, as well as singing for National Geographic. It was her love of singing and storytelling that opened the door for her lead performances for the startup series of children's musical programs called KidSongs. Her preference for complex character studies has led Chelsea to a variety of roles over the years that have allowed her to work on the subtle emotional cues that condition human behavior. Her recent transition into cinematic roles hasn't lost its edge: tackling realistic characters with varied motivations, Chelsea looks forward to helping bring her multi-dimensional character in "One Out of Three" to life.
Sahil Shroff –
(Actor)
Sahil grew up in Australia and is an Indian model/actor with an extensive resume under his belt. He can be seen most recently in episodes of "Born Again Virgin" and in the upcoming film, "Tie the Knot", starring Tara Reid.
Marco Antonio Martinez –
(Actor)
Marco was a member of the Roadside Theater in Heidelberg, Germany and attended the Rose Bruford College of Performing Arts in London. He has guest appeared on several network television shows including "Harry's Law", "House M.D.", "Hot in Cleveland" and "Castle", to name a few. In 2011, he was hired by Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker to serve as his personal dialect coach on the feature film "Catch .44". Marco has performed stand-up and sketch comedy and starred opposite Billy Dee Williams in the FunnyorDie.com-sponsored parody, "The Most Interesting BLACK Man in the World".
Andreas Riter –
(Actor)
Andreas is an actor, writer, and producer and is almost successful enough to not have a day job working in marketing. He grew up in Silicon Valley, spent summers in Germany, college in Santa Barbara and now lives in traffic...I mean LA. He was a founding member of Revolving Madness, a San Francisco-based improv group that studied under Monty Python's John Cleese while at UCSB, he was the only white guy in the ABC/Disney Diversity Showcase, and had recurring roles on TruTv's "Six Degrees of Separation" and "General Hospital".
