Hello, my name is KJ Farmer and I am fundraising for a local, up and coming community based business called One Pair KC. One Pair is a multifaceted hub for shoes, clothing and education ran by inner youth of the greater Kansas City area. Within the store we buy, sell and trade shoes while offering restorations, re-icing & customizations. Our education center component was built during the pandemic as kids faced challenges with lack of resources such as Wi-Fi for schoolwork and tutoring. We offered a place where they can feel safe and know that someone cares.

As we were coming upon our 1 year anniversary this month tragedy struck. We were robbed of more than monetary value. Our livelihood was taken from us too. This store was for the community and it hurts to see what we created taken away so carelessly. We worked so hard to provide a space for our youth pouring countless hours, our souls and collective brainpower into creating this business. Help us build our dream back up and keep inner city youth off the street. Everyone wants a chance and One Pair was that chance.

We’ve come so far from where we began just last year. We’ve given away 100+ pairs of shoes to the community during our outreach. More than anyone we understand it takes so much for vendors and entrepreneurs to get businesses off the ground and into store fronts such as Macy’s, Dillard’s and Nordstrom. One Pair offers local brands the opportunity to sell in store to gain exposure. We were all effected by this misfortune.
