Ongoing Expenses Mutual Aid

Hi, my name is Rowan.

I was a commercial truck driver until December of 2022, when I had to stop driving trucks due to worsening back pain and the subsequent detection of a primary bone tumour at T5-T6 and the associated complications and risks.

Unfortunately, I was not able to transition and reenter the job market locally, and have struggled throughout this year to find adequate employment.

My spouse is also disabled, Deaf with Tourette syndrome, and cannot currently work a job.

Meanwhile, the bills have continued to pile up; in addition to high interest rates I had to use credit cards in order to cover everyday and medical expenses several times throughout the interim period. As a result of that and the gaps in income, there is no longer any way that we can pay this down. We need to pay down this debt as soon as we can in order to continue to be able to afford basic expenses on my new income, while we wait to see what additional assistance we might be able to qualify for.
