Medical costs for brain surgery

Hi, my name is Libby, and I am setting up this fundraiser for a special friend of mine and our local community and school.

Bianca has recently received news that she has a large benign tumour pressing against her brain that requires significant neurosurgery and time off work recovering.

This surgery is invasive, lengthy and amongst other potentially devastating side effects, Bianca has been told she will lose full hearing from one ear and will have significant balance issues due to the nerve being severed during surgery.

As a result, Bianca will require a significant amount of time off work, which means there will be no income for the duration of her recovery from surgery. Bianca has recently started teaching at a local Special School on the Sunshine Coast and as such, has not yet accrued sick leave.  On top of having extended time off work, there will be other associated costs such as hospital and surgery bills and additional expenses of travel for herself and the kids as the surgery is located in Victoria while she currently resides in QLD.

This news has come with complete shock and sadness to herself and her family and has taken a toll emotionally on Bianca.

After tragically losing her husband and the father of her beautiful twin children (Nate and Clara) to a sudden brain bleed when the kids were just two years old, this news has been tough to process. Bianca is the sole provider for the care and finances of herself and her children.

Donations of any amount would be greatly appreciated, as this will go a long way with easing the emotional and financial burden on  Bianca and her kids during this challenging time.  Funds will be used to assist with the extended time Bianca will be needing to take off work, providing for the kids and for future medical expenses.
