FULLY FUNDED - Mimi's meds

UPDATE 09.07.2020
Our sweet Mimi!
How amazing we feel she's happily adopted now! We really wish all rescue dogs could have the same splendid home!
Back when Mimi was in foster care, she went through an awful lot of trouble involving seizures, vet visits and meds! She is doing great now - but getting her to this stage has left us still struggling with raising the medication money! We still have around £400 left to raise - you can see the costs justified in the fund raiser description.

We would appreciate if you could manage a small donation which we can use for Mimi's meds!

You can help by donating via this GoFundMe link directly, or

UPDATE 20/01/2020
Happy update on our baby girl Mimi! x
After, I think, a week of really struggling with her seizures and finding the right meds (and bombarding her system with calming ones), our Mimi is back to normal, even better than before I could say! She's bright, she's happy, she's loving, she's playful, carries her toys in her mouth and is acting like nothing's happened! She has had no seizures since, everything is stable and nicely well monitored and kept under control, her meds have dropped in number and she is now only on the ones she *really* needs for her epilepsy and heart murmur. Even so, these will be reviewed soon as we wouldn't want them to be too invasive, especially after Diazepam became our "best friend" while calming her brain activity! :( So health wise - all good!!!
Recently, this little lady stole the heart of a lovely family who absolutely adore her! Our Mimi is now a Londoner and having daily walks in the most beautiful parks, having lunch breaks in the nicest of cafes and having so much love and attention that she probably thinks she's in Heaven! :) x Mimi is still on trial, in foster care with view of adoption, but things are looking so promising that I dare to think this might just be her FOREVER HOME.
Meanwhile, although the news are amazing, look at the costs we have to cover!! :D :D :D Any donations would be so appreciated xx

UPDATE 12.12.2019

Do you guys remember our little Mimi, the Poodle cross, with epilepsy and newly diagnosed heart murmur? Well she is VERY naughty giving me quite a scare right now! Her epilepsy has been managed for years with 1 tablet per day, but recently she's taken a turn for the worst, without giving any signs of being unwell - seizure after seizure at an interval of few hours in one day :( even with a trip to the day-vets, her seizures hadn't ceased - and the spasms, screams, foaming and aftermath were horrific! Trip to the emergency vets that night, a sleepless night for poor Mimi... every time she would try to sleep, BAM - another seizure! With a stage 5 heart murmur, these seizures are exhausting, Mimi needs her sleep... but again and again, as soon as she'd try to nod off, there's another one! Sleepless night for me too, watching her like a hawk and administering Diazepam after Diazepam. Not fun. As the seizures continue today (second day!), here comes another trip to the vets, for more meds to help Mimi and tomorrow we're going back in the morning for blood samples, phenobarbital level monitoring and review of her meds once the results are back, hopefully on Monday. Until then, we're equipped with every medication you can think of! Vets assume this downfall might have few triggers but they can't be sure! So we'll let the tests speak for little Mimi. For the moment, for the first time in 2 days, she's in a very deep sleep, looks so peaceful, but I'm not taking this for granted, so I'll be back in my Mimi-guarding position for the night again! Gosh I cannot wait for this to be over, it's awfully heartbreaking to see such a fragile soul, but with an amazingly strong personality, go through such hell! :( On another note, we've accumulated LOADS of new vet bills (listed below in the description under DECEMBER 2019 section), we would appreciate any little donation towards these costs - as more are still to come, as we have Mimi booked for a dental and spay soon! x Please consider helping us a tiny bit xx Meanwhile, I'll keep you updated on how Mimi is!

Hi everybody!

I have started this fund raiser on behalf of TESA'S RESCUE, as one of the volunteers, to try my very best to raise the necessary money to cover all of the expenses that we have for Mimi.

Who is Mimi you might wonder! She is an elderly Romanian rescue dog, who was saved off the streets long time ago! We have always felt she'd remain in rescue all of her life.... but just now - at almost 10 years old, our gorgeous Mimi is living the GOOD life in foster care in Heathfield and looking for her forever home! xx

Mimi was diagnosed with epilepsy and heart murmur - she's loving life and is very cheerful so we'd like to keep her this way by always providing the meds she needs! Mimi needs 1 tablet per day for her epilepsy - and she hasn't had one single seizures ever since she started the treatment, and also needs 1 tablet daily for her heart murmur - both of these types of pills + prescriptions sum up to £80 per month. Mimi needs them to feel as amazing as she is! xx

We feel this is a good cause to support for a splendid dog!

NOVEMBER 2019 £80
DECEMBER 2019 £23 for prescription Vetmedin + £58 purchase
£77 vet visit (consultation, review of meds, prescription, antibiotics for mouth infection)
                                          £15 prescription/purchase for Furosemide
                                          £53 re-examination, Diazepam (oral, rectal)
£157 emergency vet appointment due to Mimi having 4 awful seizures in 1 day :(
                                          £49 more Diazepam + Levetiracetam
£175 blood samples and every other test needed for a doggy like her to make sure all's ok
£20 more Diazepam (will ease off on it until we no longer need it)
                                          £30 Epiphen prescription + 1 week's worth of tablets
JANUARY 2020     £57 Diazepam
                                          £19 Diazepam

All of these expenses are reduced as much as possible and our vet is so kind that he allows us to work "on the book", so on debts, therefore he will gladly go ahead and do everything without the money upfront. However, we would love to cover everything as soon as we possibly can so that our mind is at peace knowing that our debts are ZERO.  This will allow us to move and rescue the next animal in dire need!
