The first time I met Priscilla she took my breath away... My wife and I had just walked into a Kinesis class at our gym expecting to find our sweet, all-American trainer... and there was Priscilla, covered in tattoos with eggplant-colored hair and dark eyeliner. I was terrified of the hell she clearly had in store for us... The life lessons she has taught me over the years started that very moment; when she began class and I realized I knew nothing about her whatsoever.
Over the years, Priscilla has helped me find strength on many fronts: physically, emotionally, mentally... She's seen me through marriage, divorce, losing my job, heartbreak, and helped me work through my fears and my doubts. I feel so lucky to know her. Priscilla is kind, generous, loving, and incredibly supportive... She is the epitome of resilience and strength, and like many of us, she doesn't like to lean on others or ask for support, so I'm doing it for her.
This year has been rough. Really rough. Priscilla had to have invasive, critical surgery on her foot which meant several weeks out of work and a painfully slow recovery, followed by lots and lots of expensive physical therapy. This would be hard for any of us, but as a trainer this cost her the ability to bring in money to help pay her medical bills and provide for her kids. And things are starting to pile up... The mortgage, the medical bills, and the needs of 4 awesome teenagers is becoming too much for her to manage alone as she gets herself back on her feet... And prepares for another potential surgery.
The kids are worried, Priscilla is worried, and frankly, I am worried. The funds generated through this campaign will pay her medical bills, keep the mortgage paid, and help elevate the stress everyone is currently feeling about the future. The kids don't deserve to have that burden on them.
I hope you'll join me in giving this beautiful family some hope as they navigate some unsteady waters for the next few months. Thank you for giving whatever you can.
