Homecoming '23, 50th Anniversary, & Annual Giving

Dear Onyx Family,

Thank you for supporting our 2022 fundraising campaign. With your help, we raised $10,000, which we used towards a wonderful, well-attended Homecoming event and incorporated as a charitable organization in Pennsylvania!

We have a little over $6,000 left, which we will use towards becoming a 501c3 and partial costs of this year’s Homecoming event.

To continue to bring value to your Onyx membership through educational, mentorship, and professional development activities, we will need more support. For example, the cost of a high-quality livestream for our Homecoming event is much more than we anticipated. Even if you cannot attend Homecoming in person, we want you to be able to experience the Onyx Love from wherever you are located by watching the live stream of our event.

We also request your support because 2024 will mark Onyx’s 50th reunion. To properly provide sufficient professional development, educational, mentorship, and networking opportunities to mark this momentous occasion, we will kindly ask you to donate to our new fundraiser.

Furthermore, we are considering upgrading the Onyx website and providing some financial support to the Onyx undergraduates. Your support will ensure we have the best possible website to keep our Alumni up-to-date on Onyx events and other Onyx news. It will also help ensure that the Onyx undergraduate organization has permanence on Penn's campus.

Ultimately, we have concluded that we will need annual support to achieve these goals.
