Onyx's Surgery Fund

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Onyx. About four years ago I found my human, Elaine.I was a stray at the time. I waited outside of her job until she got out and I jumped inside of her car. Since then I have had a loving home and family. But sadly I have recently been diagnosed with a herniated or ruptured disk. This occured on May 9th. It started with a sharp pain for just a moment, but then was gone. My Dad thought I needed to go to the restroom and took me outside. But about thirty minutes after we got back the pain returned even worse and I couldnt stop crying for about five minutes. My Dad immediately took me to the emergency Vetinary Clinic. According to the Doctor there, I had a cranial cruciate ligament rupture or tear. The Doctor gave me pain medication and suggested we make an appointment with a specialist as I may need surgery. On May 10th I lost the ability to stand on both hind legs and have to drag myself in order to move (which is still painful as well) My Dad made an apointment to see my regular Doctor for the next day. After he and another Doctor saw me they determined that what I have is not a ligament issue, but either a neurological issue or a tumor. They then reffered me to a specialist. On May 11th when I saw the specialist, he determined that I do have a neurological issue. More precisely, I have an issue with my disk/disks in my lumbar region. I will need an MRI to accurately diagnose the region in which my disk issue is occurring. Along with the MRI I will also need to have surgery to correct the problem. As of now I am already having problems using my hind legs and with urinating, the damage to my nerve/nerves is also affecting my bladder and my parents have to now help me go. They are taking great care of me by helping me the way they do, they even carry me down and up the stairs when I need to go (we live on a second floor apartment).

Given time my family would be able to raise the funds on their own, but my situation is severe and they fear that if I dont have surgery soon that I may never be able to use my hind legs again. The Doctor estimated the cost of the MRI and the surgery to be between $4500-$5300. They can provide proof of the costs and all the work that is done. Anything that is left over or is extra they will be donating to other go fund me accounts or to organizations.

Please help if possible. If you cant donate, please share my story on social media and elsewhere. My family and I thank you for any and all help.

Attached is a photo of my diagnosis and some info about my condition. Thank you everyone!
