Open Heart Surgeries for the Peeples’ girls

1 in 100 babies are born with a Congenital Heart Defect, also known as CHD. When Emilia was born in 2020 we were immediately notified that she would need open heart surgery to repair a large ASD and VSD. Luckily, they advised that while she will need the surgery, her condition did not pose any immediate danger and she could wait.

Fast forward 3 years and here we are welcoming our second baby girl, Vivian, who ALSO needs Open Heart Surgery for a condition known as AVSD. However, hers will need to be done within the first 6 months of life.

Any parent knows the helpless and crippling feeling of when your child is sick/injured and there’s nothing you can do besides pray, find the best doctors, and try to ask all the questions. Brett and I have an amazing support system that has been and continues to help us emotionally prepare for the girls’ surgeries. And while we have been saving up over the last three years for Emilia’s surgery, we are now faced with two.

On August 12th, 2023 Team Two Peeps in a Pod will participate in the Conquering CHD virtual 3k walk to show our support for our girls and all the babes living with CHD.

location to be announced or virtually) or donate to this GoFundMe to support their surgery and recovery. Any of the money raised that is not used for their surgeries will be donated to Joe DiMaggio hospital as that is where their surgeries will be performed.
