Open The GRIND Garage Fitness & Wellness Studio!

Hi! My name is Maggie, Certified Personal Trainer & Owner of GRIND, a fitness community I've been working hard to build since I ventured into entrepreneurship 4 years ago! From day one, my mission has been to design workout programs that are not only effective but also enjoyable, with a strong emphasis on encouragement and inclusivity. The happiness I experience knowing that this approach has empowered numerous individuals to regain strength and confidence in their fitness routines is truly rewarding and reinforces my commitment to this path. Seeing others achieve their goals brings me immense joy and motivates me to continue creating a positive impact through fitness!

Over the last 4 years, I've operated as a one-man team, determined to serve my clients even without a dedicated studio. I've utilized various outlets, from outdoor venues to rented fitness studios, and I've even transformed my dining room into a gym for my virtual fitness community. Undoubtedly, every space I've had the privilege to access has played a vital role in GRIND's growth, and I am grateful for them all! Nevertheless, I've also been faced with several challenges, such as weather limitations for outdoor workouts, the inconvenience of traveling with heavy equipment, and scheduling constraints when renting other studios. As my online fitness community expands, having a dedicated space would provide better opportunities, including improved lighting, fewer distractions, and more room for creativity. I've always believed that the investment into a space would not only elevate my business but also enable me to better serve the community, making it a valuable asset for the future of GRIND!

After YEARS of searching for the perfect studio, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity has landed in my lap and I've decided to follow my gut and go for it! The unwavering support I've received from friends, family, and loyal clients over the years has been truly invaluable. Without your encouragement, I wouldn't have come this far or envisioned the possibilities ahead. Now, I humbly turn to this same community, seeking just a little more of their support to transform my long-time dream of owning a studio into a tangible reality!

What the funds will be used for: Although the space itself is in great condition, several essential improvements need to be made, and some equipment must be purchased before operating. I plan to start with the bare essentials, do a lot of the work (that I can) myself, gradually enhancing the space, adding wishlist items as we progress. After completing A LOT of research and consulting with several contractors, below is a list of both the necessary items and the items on my wishlist!

Necessary projects/equipment needed:

*Basic equipment (dumbbells, weight racks, plyo boxes etc...)- $6,000-$7,000
*Industrial size fans/AC units- $2,000-$3,000
*Bathroom renovations- $3,000
*Painting- $1,000
*Materials/labor for front desk & benches for the lobby - $3,000-$4,000
*Floor improvements (cement leveling, rubber tile installation)- $3,000-$4,000
*Front and back of building signage/window decals to improve visibility)- $3,000-$4,000
*Marketing budget (website overhaul, advertising)- $1,000-$2,000

Wishlist items:

*Cold plunge/sauna installations to encourage recovery & relaxation solutions- $10,000
*Larger pieces of equipment (a few rowers, fan bikes)- $10,000
*Sound system- $3,000
*Air conditioning-$25,000
*Infrared lamps for heated class offerings-$10,000

The Vision: In addition to serving my current fitness community, and growing my offerings for them, I also have exciting plans to utilize the space for other opportunities such as:

-Monthly, donation-based classes: Organizing classes where participants can donate to support various charitable causes, promoting fitness while making a positive impact on the community.
-Collaborating with other small businesses: Hosting fitness and wellness events in partnership with local businesses, creating a supportive network and offering unique experiences
-Kids workout & yoga programs: Introducing fitness and yoga programs specifically designed for children, promoting healthy habits from an early age in a fun and engaging way.
-Space rental opportunities for fellow trainers: Offering the opportunity for other trainers to utilize the space, encouraging a sense of collaboration and helping them grow their businesses.
-Grab and go cooler: Stocked with grab-and-go food items and coffee offerings provided by Winn Winn, a brand new walk-up café, conveniently located directly next door! Bonus!
Retail space for local vendors: Showcasing merchandise from local vendors in efforts to support the community and bring attention to their businesses.

I've fully embraced the idea that this venture will be a labor of love, requiring the collective effort of a supportive community. I firmly believe that with these initiatives, The GRIND Garage will become not only a center for fitness but also a hub for community engagement, empowerment, and well-being.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and considering the possibility of donating to help bring my dream studio to life. I genuinely appreciate any contribution, no matter how small, as every bit counts toward making this dream a reality!
