HELP SAVE MEADOW VISTA’S COMMUNITY TRAIL SYSTEM FROM EXTINCTION.
The goal of OTCA is to foster a cooperative and communicative environment to preserve generations old trail systems and open spaces.
We value the health & well-being of the Meadow Vista community. Parks, recreation and open space increase property values, build community, and improve quality of life. These precious community resources include long-standing trail networks that have been in existence for well over 50 years. Many residents choose to live in Meadow Vista because of these trails.
It’s vital to our future generations that we help with the conservation of our natural and open spaces, which are a part of the quality of life that make our community special and a desirable place to live and raise families.
We look to partner with like-minded community members and organizations to effectively manage our assets and the stewardship of the community’s open space, and sustain them for future generations.
Currently the Open Trails Community Alliance is working to address trail closures on the Bear River Canal between Meadow Gate Road and Placer Hills Road. We hope to achieve the reopening of these long standing community resources by addressing the needs of landowners and community members.
While we hope to accomplish this through community dialogue, after two years of attempting to regain public trail access without success, we recognize that legal action may be the only route left to us to preserve these trails for future generations.
OTCA has been in communication with a prominent local attorney who won a similar decision to keep trails open in Nevada County. We anticipate that the full legal costs will be over $18,000. Through our gofundme page, we have successfully funded the initial step of this process, over $3500.
