Opening Minnesota's First Bunny Cafe
We are opening the first rabbit cafe in the United States! For many of us, 2020 was a challenging and isolating year, so we are determined to combat all this stress with rabbits, reading, and lots of relaxation.
Our small team is thrilled to present Book Bunny Cafe, the first rabbit cafe of its kind set to open in Minnesota. This rabbit-centric reading hub is the merging of our two favorite things: books and buns. For over a decade, we have been fortunate to welcome many sweet rabbits into our own homes, and we are so excited to share their playful personalities with you at Book Bunny Cafe.
What is a Rabbit Cafe?
If you’ve heard of a cat cafe, then you know what to expect.
A rabbit cafe is just like any other cafe…plus adoptable bunnies that roam around inside. Hang out at the front of the cafe and watch as rabbits quietly play, or join in the fun and take your beverage back to our lounge where the buns roam wild (in a safe, secure habitat).
Rabbits are social creatures, and they’re so curious to meet you!
Helping Our Community
Once the cafe doors are open, Book Bunny will partner with local rabbit rescues in Minnesota to join in their mission of helping rabbits find their fur-ever homes.
Our adoption model not only provides these rabbits with loving families, but it also gives our cafe patrons a unique opportunity to meet and interact with our rabbits in a comfortable environment. Already have a bun at home? Bring your single rabbit to our community events to patiently meet potential mates, or work with our team to find a bonded bunny pair.
If rabbit adoption isn’t your cup of tea, grab a drink or snack from our cafe bar. Relax, recharge, and rest inside a cozy haven of books and bunnies.

Our cafe is a sanctuary that provides adoptable rabbits with a happy interim home while they search for their fur-ever families. A small yet dedicated team of volunteers cleans and cares for our rabbits daily, while our knowledgable cafe staff will help you safely and respectfully meet our sweet rabbit residents.
