OperaTerps 2020 Winter Production
Donation protected
UMD's Undergraduate Opera Company's 2020 production is dependent upon your support and generosity. Student funding was cut this year for arts programs at the University of Maryland. We need your help now more than ever to keep OperaTerps alive.
OperaTerps is the University of Maryland’s first and only student-run opera company. We pride ourselves on giving undergraduate students the chance to perform lead and supporting roles on the operatic stage. For seven years, OperaTerps has been able to produce free concerts and opera productions for UMD students, faculty, parents, and community members. In order to continue our programming, as well as keep our season free and open to the public, we have turned to our community for support.
From January 6th through the February productions, singers at UMD will be spending their break rehearsing the season’s production and training with professionals to hone their craft, at no cost of their own. This is a unique opportunity—a free semester of masterclasses and practical performance experience—that can only happen with your help.
Please consider leaving a gift of support this holiday season so that the aspiring opera singers of UMD can have an opportunity to grow in their craft.
A donation of any amount will go directly to production and programming costs, and any funds above our goal will be saved for future productions, so we can further secure these unique opportunities for future UMD singers. It will go SUCH a long way.
Below is a breakdown of the 2020 OperaTerps Budget:
- Rehearsal and Performance Pianist (Jan. 5th through Feb. 9th): $500.00
- Performance Rights for Thomas Pasatieri’s “Signor Deluso” and Kurt Weill’s “Down in the Valley”: $450.00
- A hired chamber Ensemble to play Signor Deluso: $500.00
- Production props: $50.00
Total Goal: $1500.00
A gift of any size will go a long way to help us bring our musical stories to life!
