Operation Archangel

The time has come to help a man who has selflessly dedicated his life to helping others. As an Air Force Pararescue Jumper (PJ), Paramedic and Deputy United States Marshal, he spent his life going into harms way to truly make the world a safer place. Unfortunately, Don is battling a very rare form of cancer, likely connected to his service in the military. If you're lucky enough to know Don Allie, you know that he would never ask for a Go-Fund-Me page. His only concern during all of this has been for the well-being of his wife and son, Bethany and Jon. Recently, he was denied his full military disability due to a clerical error. The one way we can all help this fearless man is to ease his mind that his family will be taken care of. Every penny raised will go to Don, Bethany and Jon.

Career

Don spent 26 years in the Air Force as a PJ and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. He deployed during Desert Storm, Desert Shield, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Northern Watch, Operation Southern Watch and Operation Enduring Freedom. He had over 100 rescue missions and was awarded multiple Air Medals. He was qualified as a Halo Jump Master, a Static Line Jump Master and a Combat Dive Master.

During Hurricane Katrina Don was part of a team of 35 PJs that saved 11,981 people over an eight day period of time.

Don spent 20 years as a Deputy U.S. Marshal. In that time, he removed well over 800 violent felons from the streets of California, including one of the "15 Most Wanted". Don was instrumental in bringing the Chelsey King/Amber DuBois killer to justice. Don is known for his unwavering tenacity to solve the most difficult cases. He has received multiple awards from other agencies for his involvement in solving high profile cases. Don is respected as a dedicated mentor and instructor.

Health Issues

In 2011, Don had a large nerf football size tumor removed from his abdomen. He was diagnosed with a Gastro Intestinal Stomal Tumor (GIST) for which there is no cure. The only treatment consists of ongoing chemotherapy drugs - most of which are experimental - and surgery to remove the tumors as they develop.

In 2016, Don had five more tumors removed. Due to the entanglement between the tumors and other organs he had his left kidney, spleen, 1/2 of his pancreas and a section of his intestines removed. Don suffered a collapsed lung in 2017 due to complications from the surgery. This caused permanent scarring to his lung.

In 2019, Don had yet another tumor removed.

In October 2020, Don began experiencing more abdominal pain. After a P.E.T. scan, it was discovered that a tumor had grown in size since his last scan and was pressing on the mesenteric artery. This tumor is cutting off the blood supply to his G.I tract. After consulting with multiple doctors it was determined that this tumor is inoperable. After appealing to the Tumor Board they yet again decided it was inoperable.

What can you do?

Most of our first thoughts are to reach out and speak with Don, Bethany or Jon. However, Don does not want to be contacted at this time as it is difficult to repeat and relive this frustrating news. Please go follow the private Facebook group "Operation Archangel" for updates and developments, as well as drop a well-wish to the family. Thank you for your understanding. Your donation and most importantly your prayers for this family are appreciated beyond measure.
