Operation Baby Borchert

If there is one thing everyone knows about Gregg and Katie, it’s how amazingly kind and helpful they are, as well as how much they love any child in their lives. It’s because of this we (Doug and Ashley) believe that they deserve the chance to become parents.

Gregg and Katie have been together for 8 wonderful years, and married for 4 of those years. They are so wonderfully in love and it is clear for anyone to see how much they love each other. In those 8 years, they have demonstrated time and time again their kindness and selflessness to help others in any way they can. They have helped so many of their friends and family members in many ways, no matter how hard it could be, with no expectations in return. So we feel that now, more than ever, they deserve our best effort to return the favor.

Gregg and Katie’s journey to become parents has been a long and hard one. They have tried for multiple years to start a family. Due to circumstances and treatments from the past 12 years of Gregg’s military service, as well as other factors that cannot be controlled, they have recently learned that their only hope for having a child is to do IVF. Anyone who knows anything about IVF is that it is terribly expensive and is not covered by insurance. Gregg and Katie have had quite the year of unexpected financial burdens and many emotional challenges on this journey. Gregg and Katie have both had to take many measures to prepare their bodies for parenthood such a surgery and multiple medications.

We truly believe that Gregg and Katie are so deserving to become parents. We have seen them be so involved in their nieces and nephews’ lives. They were even “crazy” enough to have all 9 of them over on the same day for sledding, games, baking cookies and other activities as their Christmas gift. This shows how much quality time with children means to them. We don’t know many people who love kids this much that they would be willing to do that. It’s their turn to spoil a child of their own with their love.

We are so fortunate to have them in our children’s lives and are so thankful to have them in ours. We have decided it’s time to rally and help them raise the funding they need to have a child they not only are so incredibly longing for, but that they deserve.

Their goal is $40,000 as there are many hoops they need to jump through to achieve this like the procedure, medications, and special circumstances.
