Operation Coach Ringo Recovery
Donation protected
My brother, Johnny "Ringo" Scharnweber, is a successful business owner, wonderful father, husband and passionate endorucross coach/teacher and racer.
He lives life to the very fullest having a passion for the moto community since he was a teenager. He is a 20+ year kidney transplant survivor and faced a life long of diverse situations rising from essentially nothing to where he is today... a leader in his chosen industy as well as a role model for others, consistenly finding ways to give back to his local community, the moto industry and lobbying on capitol hill for both the insurance and moto industries. On Jan. 22nd, he was fulfilling his passion by participating in an expert class race, the National Hare and Hound race during the recent major rain storms in southern California. Due to the extreme conditions, things did not go as planned in the race and Johnny had a dramatic crash leaving him with several broken vertabrae in his neck and a severely swollen and bruised spine. Currently Johnny has no feeling from his chesk down and has little movement in his toes and right arm. Although he has had surgeries and has been admitted to a nationally known acute rehab facility, his prognosis is unknown. We know that Johnny is a warrior and will fight to not only walk but to race and teach again. We need your help immediately! We would like to put him in an exploratory stem cell research treatment program These treatments costs anywhere from $30,000 to $50,000 per session and are not currently covered by insurance.
While insurance will certainly be helping with his rehab and care, it by no means will cover everything Johnny needs especially if his is accepted into the stem cell program, it will take him months if not years to fully recover. Johnny has a loving wife, Jennifer "Ringo" Scharnweber and they have been overwhelmed by the blessings prayer, love and support from friends and family, so any donation, big or small, will be incredibly appreciated as they both learn to cope with this and find the best therapies possible to increase his chances of a full recovery. This is my big brother, my hero and the father of my nieces and nephew... Lets give back just the same way he would for us. #Grateful #InItToWinIt! #WhatGoesAroundComesAround
