Operation De-tit aka KJs top surgery fund

Hi loves, my name is KJ, I just turned 27 and I am nonbinary.

I am unfortunately having to fundraise for top surgery as my plan to self fund hasn't worked out (I was working a job I had to leave for my mental health) and the NHS is likely to take atleast 6 years minimum for me to even get a consultation with a surgeon, this is my current only option.

I have been really struggling with chest dysphoria over the last few years and it's been something that has been slowly building up and ruining my life. I just want to feel comfortable in my body and like myself.

I have researched and decided on the surgeon that I want, he has quoted that the procedure costs £7,500 (July 2023) while a consultation costs £200, so I would need to raise around £7,700.

I need to also factor in private referrals as I will not be going via a GIC but rather genderGP who will provide me with letters for approx £250 for an appointment and for the letter/referral, also any travel fees to get me to and from the hospital which is why I have made the target £8,000.

I am currently trying to get another job and trying to better my mental health.
