Michael was a personal trainer with a solid clientele list in January when he was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer. After six weeks of chemo and radiation he was scheduled to go into surgery on 06 March, 2022. There were complications and his bodyweight went from around 250 lbs all the way down to 130. His nausea was over the top the entire time. They had to put him on a feeding tube to supply enough calories to survive. He swore he would never do it again. When I finally left the hospital after 8 weeks, I felt alive again. Early scans confirmed they had gotten all the cancer. I was 100% cancer-free. They hadn't even scheduled me a follow-up. About six months after his discharge from the hospital he had a routine CT scan. They found a spot on his liver for the first time; the next week he had a much more thorough PET Scan. There were three spots on his liver, one in his gastric junction, and one in the left occipital lobe of his brain. They immediately went after the one on his brain. Despite saying he would never take chemo again, the doctor talked him into it. He has had two chemo sessions and two bad reactions. They're doing a PET Scan this week to see how effective the treatment is. If it is working, they'll continue with the chemo treatments. He is trying to stay positive in the meantime. He has been without income for awhile, because he was self-employed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Michael needs to catch up on his bills and get some wheels to hopefully assimilate back into normal life.
