Operation get Raven to Canada to be with Brodie!

Hello everyone! As you may know, we’re in the midst of trying to find a way to bring Raven, a rescued special needs pup, to Alberta, Canada to live with us! Our dog Brodie has an almost identical facial deformity as Raven, and we would love the chance to give her the same amazing life that we’ve given to Brodie!! She comes from a background of abuse sadly and it’s suspected that she has lived most of her life in a cage. Her previous owner threatened to abandon her but thankfully the lovely folks at Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue took her in! I fell in love the moment I saw her face and knew she just had to be with Brodie and our family. I spoke with the rescue and they’ve approved us for adoption, but sadly the only thing standing in the way of her being with us is travel logistics.

After an outpouring of help from you all (which we are SO unbelievably grateful for…just wow) we’ve found a possible solution! A wonderful rescue organization by the name of Puppy Rescue Mission based out of Texas reached out to me and they are going to set everything up for us. They normally help military personnel and their rescued pets who need to be brought in from other countries, so they know all there is about getting a pup across an international border! I’m so unbelievably grateful for their help.

The plan is as follows:

Have Raven flown from Texas to Seattle where a volunteer will pick her up from the airport and keep her overnight.

The volunteer will then drive Raven over the border into BC, Canada to meet us.

We will drive about 10-12 hours one way from where we live in Alberta to meet in BC to pick her up, and drive her right back home the same way.

All of the expenses for Raven’s medical costs, transportation, and certificates to cross the border have been factored into the fundraising amount, along with any expenses for anyone assisting us. Although the fundraiser is set to CDN dollars, the costs will actually all be in USD. Our Canadian dollar is worth a lot less so I did factor that in when deciding on an amount. I’m hoping that this will be enough to cover all travel expenses for everyone involved, and if there is anything leftover it will be used for Raven’s vet expenses and donated to Fuzzy Texan Animal Rescue and Puppy Rescue Mission so they can continue to save more animals in need like Raven!!!

I can’t thank you all enough for the support and kindness you’ve all shown towards not only Brodie, but now Raven as well. I will keep you all posted on the progress of this situation and I’ll definitely be documenting our adventure when it comes time to go pick her up!!
