Operation International - Uganda Trip

Hi!

It’s Heidi. I’m a Nurse Anesthetist volunteering with Operational International (OI). This October, I’ll be joining a team of surgeons, anesthetists, nurses, and surgical techs to provide free surgical and medical care to underserved communities in Uganda. We will be doing general surgery, pediatric surgery, tumor removals, cleft lip + palate repairs, burn reconstruction, and maxillofacial surgeries.

Having returned from two OI surgical mission trips earlier this year in Ghana and Bhutan, and witnessed first hand the impact OI has on communities that would otherwise not be able to receive much-needed surgical care, I have so much respect for the work this organization does to break down healthcare barriers globally and provide free surgical care and health education in underserved areas.
