Operation K9-Tyrone
Tax deductible
Operation Our Town is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 2006 to combat drugs and crime in Blair County, PA. Operation Our Town is collecting donations through Operation K-9 to help the Tyrone Borough Police Department purchase a K-9 Unit.
Establishing a K-9 Unit is expensive. The estimate of projected startup costs per canine team is $25,000, which includes the cost of the canine, handler/training, police service canine kit, and patrol car changes for the canine.
Police dogs perform a variety of different tasks within the law enforcement department, like catching criminals, sniffing out drugs, and rescuing people trapped under debris. The Tyrone K-9 will be a dual-purpose canine, doing both drug detection and patrol duties with its handler.
Let's help the Tyrone Borough Police Department make their community safer by raising the funds needed to purchase a K-9 through Operation K-9!
