Orange tabby needs your HELP
Donation protected
We are deeply saddened and devastated by the news we received today from the SPCA. Our beloved Community feral kitty, Orange, was diagnosed with skin cancer. The Veterinarian’s initial assessment was that the cancer could be removed completely. He subsequently informed us that the cancer was more invasive and had spread toward an area of his eye. Orange tabby is well known within the Burton/KALW community, having brought happiness to anyone who has come in contact with him for the past 3 years. In recent months, an open sore was discovered just above his forehead. An earlier visit to Urgent Care in September, coupled with a missed diagnosis contributed to a rapid deterioration. Staff from Burton & KALW remained committed to care for Orange throughout our pandemic. They routinely fed, groomed and treated his wound with an ointment.
A financial burden weighed heavily on whether to intervene or not. But given the accelerated deterioration of Orange’s condition, a decision was made to admit him for emergency treatment. Due to this unforeseen circumstance, we are unable to fully absorb Orange’s medical expenses. We are soliciting donations from the community-at-large to ensure Orange receives adequate care needed. We are blessed that a KALW staff has agreed to accept Orange tabby into her home during this critical time of need. This transition period will enable Orange to heal and to enjoy the comforts of a loving home.
We would appreciate any donations from our Burton/KALW and beloved community-at-large. It is uncertain what the next weeks or months will bring, but we are confident that your contribution will allow Orange to thrive and have the strength to make a full recovery.
